Aconcagua - Argentina, South America  22,841 feet / 6962 meters

Expedition Date: TBD

Summit Attempt: TBD

Aconcagua is the tallest mountain in both the west and southern hemispheres, South America, and finally the Andes Mountain Range. It stands at 22,837 feet just 70 miles northwest of Mendoza, Argentina. The first recorded ascent was in 1897 with the first ascent by a woman in 1940.  Although not technical, only 60% of climbers will stand on the summit after the long 21-day trek.  Many have fatally underestimated the effect of climbing at such a great altitude. Aconcagua is a beautiful mountain posing its own set of unique challenges.
